Time to meet the family! Nick and I have been extremely blessed to have an amazing family and I have the honor
of introducing each one of them to you!
This beautiful couple were childhood sweethearts and have been married
for 34 years. They raised 4 kiddos and somehow remained sane. They provided a Christian home for me and my siblings to grow up in and I am forever grateful to them for that. My Dad taught me to fish, correctly wash and wax a car, mow the lawn–the list goes on–but most importantly he showed me what it means to be a faithful husband and father and to never settle on marrying anyone with lesser values. I knew early on I wanted to marry a man who would have many of my dad’s qualities and God sure answered my prayers. My Momma is, in a summed-up word, amazing. She stayed home with us kids and homeschooled us all the way through high school. I couldn’t be more grateful for her unfailing work and prayers in my life. She was/is involved in everything I have done and do–down to coming to every gymnastic practice and competition for years on top of each one of my sibling’s activities. Mom’s love for the Lord is evident in everything that she does and is a true prayer warrior. Anyone who has ever met my parents and spent even one moment in their home, have experienced the following: my parent’s gracious hospitality, my mom’s loving interest in your life, and my dad’s crowd-pleasing humor. If you have never had the pleasure of meeting them, let me know and I guarantee your life will be changed 🙂 Mom and Dad have been two of our biggest supports in bringing Bebe home from the very beginning and they include Bebe in their “Grandchildren talk” already. Bebe will be spoiled, no doubt about that!
My older sister, Aubrie, is married to Matt Prignitz and they have my adorable niece, Payson. They own their own business and live in the town that I grew up in. Fun fact, Nick and Matt were roommates before we got married and then Aubrie and Matt were married less than a year later. It’s been a blast watching Matt and Aubrie become parents and Payson keeps them on their toes. For not having sisters growing up, Matt has done a great job of teasing Bethany and me like a good big brother should 🙂 Aubrie is an amazing mom and I’m convinced it’s because she was/is an amazing older sister. Protective yet sweeter than honey, she leads her younger sisters through life like a champ.
My baby sista, Bethany, lives in Nashville with her furbaby, Alice the bunny. Bethany is expanding her writing and singing music career by living in the music city and loves it. Look her up for some of the best music you’ll ever hear: http://www.bethanyjoyjohnson.com/
She is one of the funniest people I know (sorry B, we all know Dad is the funniest) and draws crowds wherever she goes with her bubbly and caring personality.
Side note: Bethany has been mistaken for Lindsay Lohan for several years and even had a magazine photographer jump out of a van to take a snap shot only to turn around disappointed that his big break was a lie. That’s only one story, folks, pretty sure she could fill a book with scenarios similar to that one!
Both of my sisters are my best friends and I wouldn’t trade them for anything. I can’t thank them enough for their
encouraging attitudes and support the last year through the ups and downs of adoption.
Ava(9) and Lincoln(6) are my sweet niece and nephew who lost their Daddy–my older brother, 5 years ago. Josiah was 27 years old when he went home to be with the Lord and we greatly miss him. I love watching his babies grow up and seeing Josiah’s sweet natured personality in each of them. Ava and Linc have gained 3 siblings and their names are Karis, Gabi, and Westin.
Nick was blessed with Tim and Kim Wolfe as his parents and I was lucky enough to gain them as in-laws. They were married for almost 32 years and had one of the sweetest marriages I’ve ever seen. Tim loved and took care of Kim all the way through the last days of her life and was with her when she left us to be with Jesus in February, 2015. Bebe will never meet Nana Kim, at least here on earth, but with the help of stories and pictures, they will know they were loved by her. Kim was the best mother-in-law I could ever ask for. Seriously, you think your in-laws are the best? Nope, mine are. Kim loved her family like I’ve never seen a woman love before. She was so proud of her sons and supported them in everything that they did. She loved her husband and served him with everything that was in her. We miss her everyday and the family definitely has a Kim-shaped hole in it that will never be filled. Tim has one of the kindest hearts and caring attitudes and he is a fantastic father to Nick and his brothers(and father in law to us girls).
Alex is Nick’s younger brother and is married to a beautiful little lady named, Lindsay. They currently live in Lynchburg, VA where Alex attends school at Liberty University. Lindsay works for the University and is also finishing her degree so they live a busy life! Lindsay shares my love for working out, antiques, and coffee so we were kinda meant to be sisters 🙂 She is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet and has a heart for loving people. Alex has a kind heart and great sense of humor and shares Nick’s love for soccer 🙂
Alex and Lindsay both have been huge supports with our adoption and Lindsay even agreed to write a guest blog for me so be on the look out for that! 🙂
Nick’s older brother, Josh and his wife, Stephanie have 3 wonderful kids, Taylor(14), Nate(13), and Brianna(6). Josh and Stephanie
are amazing parents and both are hard workers at their jobs. Since we have lived 13 hours
away from them our entire marriage I wasn’t able to spend a lot of time with them until the last 6 months and I have been touched by their loving and kind hearts. Nick and I are so thankful to have them in our life and I look forward to spending more time with them in the future.
Along with our wonderful intermediate family, we would never want to leave out our Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and our faith/church family who have played a huge part in Bebe’s adoption this far. Your prayers, interest, questions, and support do not go unnoticed. We are thankful for each one of you and cannot say “thank you” enough!
