You know you’re adopting internationally when:
🌎 Piles of documents take over almost every flat surface in your house (yes, I’m organized…it’s just a ridiculous amount of paperwork!)
🌎 You anxiously await the mail for Immigration paperwork daily and celebrate when they arrive 🌟
🌎 You get your finger prints done…AGAIN🕵🏻♂️
🌎 You send said fingerprints to get cleared and approved…AGAIN 🕵🏻♂️🕵🏻♀️
🌎 You drive yourself (and probably your spouse) crazy by reading and re-reading each document and email from your agency explaining what to do with each document.
🌎 You re-organize the documents that need to be notarized (Thanks Kelsi!) 5 times and then plan your day around going to the Secretary of States office to get each notarized document appostilled (don’t know what that is? I didn’t either until 5 years ago🤪)
🌎 When someone calls to ask about an event in April you say, “Sorry, my husband and I are blocking off that month to travel to pick up our daughter from Bulgaria” 😃
🌎 You recognize the accent of a nurse as being from Eastern Europe and she’s impressed I know what country she is from (a bordering country of Bulgaria).
🌎 You watch videos and look at pictures of your daughter everyday and marvel that the day has final come that you have a child to marvel at 🥰
And yup! That’s how you can spot a family adopting internationally 🌎
